65th Annual Convention of the MN State Building & Construction Trades Council

The 65th Annual Convention of the Minnesota State Building & Construction Trades Council, AFL-CIO, will be held Thursday, and Friday, July 21 & 22, 2011, at the Holiday Inn & Suites, 200 West First Street, Duluth, MN 800-477-7089.

Registration begins at 8:00 AM on Thursday, July 21, and the Convention will be called to order at 12:00 PM. A tentative agenda is in this article.

Each affiliate in good standing will be entitled to the following number of delegates:

BUILDING & CONSTRUCTION TRADES COUNCILS - 4 delegates

DISTRICT CRAFT COUNCILS OR CONFERENCES - 2 delegates

LOCAL UNIONS - 4 delegates 

LOCAL UNION UNITS - 2 delegates

$15.00 see note on affiliation fee

(A Local Union Unit is one which holds regular meetings in their respective Building Trades Council’s jurisdictional area, and which has officers to conduct such meetings).

In addition, each Local Union may send ONE (1) APPRENTICE to the convention as a GUEST, without a vote. Although apprentices are not delegates, they must be credentialed, without cost, and register for the convention.

Enclosed are credentials which should be received at least 15 days prior to the convention, along with a registration fee of $70.00 per delegate. (Registration fee includes one (1) Ticket for the Cope Reception Thursday evening and each additional ticket will be $30.00.)

 

2011 Convention

Please return all credentials to the MN Building Trades office, 411 Main St., #206, St. Paul MN 55102, as soon as possible, but no later than June 30th. If you need additional credentials, please make copies or contact this office.

There shall be a $25.00 affiliation fee for each DISTRICT CRAFT COUNCIL OR CONFERENCE, and a $15.00 affiliation fee for each UNIT of a LOCAL UNION. Such fees are to be paid annually, at least thirty (30) days prior to the Annual Convention. Should you have any questions about the payment of affiliation fees, please contact this office (651-287-9999) before paying the fee.

Resolutions must be typed and sent to this office no later than June 9, 2011 (30 days previous to the date of the convention). Resolutions not in the hands of this office thirty (30) days prior to the convention (June 9, 2011) must receive the consent of a majority of the delegates present for introduction on the first day of the convention. After the close of the first day of the convention, it shall require the consent of two-thirds of the delegates to introduce any resolution.

Also, any donation you can make to offset the cost of the convention would be very much appreciated!
